How do I repair my headlight issues?

Asked by Butch1948 Aug 25, 2014 at 07:48 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes when I turn my car on the headlights flip up then when I shut the car off the
lights will not close.  Many times I turn the lights off and the lights will not flip down until I
turn them off and on several times.  At times the passenger light only opens half way.
How do I solve this issue?

Could be a mechanical issue as well.My 92 headlamp motors were exhibiting similar issues along with odd noises. These motors can easily be rebuilt inexpensively. Just takes patience. Check the forums online for more info, videos of these repairs on youtube.

There may be a grounding problem. There are a dozen or so ground terminals in your bette. They any one of them can cause intermittent problems with most any accessory. Check fuses as well.
