crv not starting intermittently

not starting.  several different symptoms.  turn key to start and nothing
happens.  no sounds.  another time after turning key to start position, there was
a faint clicking noise.  car will start on 2nd try after releasing key and then
turning back to start position.

took to honda world. they diagnosed and found starter needed to be replaced. failed starter seems unusual for a 2014 crv w/105kmi, our 96 civic w/190kmi has original starter as well as 2005 odyssey w/160kmi.
