Burning smell from under the hood ?

I have a 2015 Subaru Outback with burning smell under the hood.The car has
115K miles.  It developes a burning smell from under the hood when the car
has gotten up to operating temperature and noticed odor when parked.  The car
drives fine.  Fluid levels are good, the engine is not overheating.  No oil drips
under the engine at all.  What could this be?

Small coolant or oil leaks could be the cause without any drops hitting the floor. The splash pan under the engine can hide a lot.

Hmmm.... Check if there's oil seepage from the front engine cover (cam cover) that drips down and is blown back onto the hot exhaust. It's a bit of a painful 10hr job. Otherwise, assuming the CVT is "happy," I'm at a loss. Some serpentine belt stretch will cause low rpm belt arhythmic"chirping" that's annoying, but of no consequence unless it stretches enough to slip and get a bit smelly as it burns? Just conjecture....
