Check engine light

Asked by Jeremiahbman1987 Sep 15, 2018 at 11:11 PM about the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I juat had my check engine light come on in my
2015 volkswagen jetta tsi and I checked the code it
says it running lean in bank one and I was
wondering what that would be from. Could it have
something to do with runing E85 and not being
tuned for it. Because I put a short ram cold air
intake on it and its been running fine with just that
and running E15 or 93 octane gas. Any help is
much appreciated. Suggestions for a quick and
easy fix would be great thanks.

you'll find quick and easy at Mcdonalds , you can try swapping the injector and see if the code follows it , or see if they are firing normal , Are supposed to run E 85 ?

If you ran E85 in a non flex fuel engine you are lucky it runs at all. Put real gas in it and hope it starts running right. I would also reverse the air intake mods and see if that fixes the problem.

I had that exact code come up twice and both times it got progressively worse and I've ended up having the ignition coil replaced twice along with the spark plugs. Not a cheap repair. It's just started happening again, starting with a rough idle and a check engine light.
