Shouldn’t the Service Shifter be a Recall?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m at the dealership right now, bringing in my
2016 Jeep Cherokee for the THIRD time for
the Service Shifter light.  The Service Shifter
comes up on my dashboard, and all the little
red lights light up on my shifter.  I was told if it
happens again to make sure I get it in before
the 8 month warranty expires, I’m in before 8
months and now they’re trying to tell me it
might be costing me about $700 for the part.
Shaking my head, I just want out of this Jeep,
never again!

Recalls are for safety issues. Since you are at the dealership, you can check with them if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls. I would contact Jeep Corporate before paying $700 and complain. You might get a reduced cost. After it is fixed, trade it in on a Toyota 4 Runner.
