I asked about disconnecting the sound drum. Does this make the car louder or quieter?

This tube allows noise (harmonics) from the intake to act on a diaphragm in order to PUT engine noises into the passenger area. It has no effect outside the car no increased noise. Inside the cars (cabin) it creates "enhanced" noise! if you want you can even increase the noise (inside the car) by removing foam from the resonance tube. Once again having no effect outside the cabin.
