It's something common in jettas, im having the same problem in my 14 jetta and VW doesn't want to consider it a recall unless they get a lot of complaints, submit your complaint here https://www- odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

My 2014 Jetta would not turn. Tapped on end of key while holding pressure. It worked. Purchased graphite at local auto supply and put in ignition. Works like new
