Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This only happens when I drive alot. When coming to a
stop, i hear and feel a nasty grinding noise. The brake
system is good so dont know what it could be. Another
issue is i have the code p0420 coming on and off. I
changed the catalytic converter and the primary 02 sensor
so I would like to know what else it could be.

Obviously the brake system is not good , a grinding noise sounds like metal to metal , check the rear drum brakes ,

Did you get the correct catalytic converter? Your vehicle may have California Emissions. The emission control sticker under the hood will tell you. If that's the case you need a catalytic converter that is CARB compliant. Even if you don't live in California or the vehicle was not originally delivered to California you could still have California Emissions. Also, the downstream oxygen sensor monitors the catalytic converter, not the upstream oxygen sensor. Hope that helps! Jim
