Engine died while drivind

Asked by CodyCornett74 Mar 07, 2020 at 11:58 AM about the 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Ford explorer Eddie bauer edition with the 4.0
V6. I was driving down the road when I went to turn off the
overdrive. When I did that it killed the motor. Now it will turn
over but won't start. It did the same thing a while back and I
took it to the ford dealership. They replaced the pcm diode
fuse and it started working again. I check the fuses and
they are still good but still won't start. It will only turn over.
What else could it be.

Did you find out answer yet from somewhere else? Because I have exact same Explorer - 2000 EB and my overdrive seems to come on randomly and I'll shut it off while driving. I sure hope it doesn't shut off like yours.
