Did you purge all the air out of the system?
Did you use 50/50 anti-freeze and water?
sound to me that the radiator needs flushed or replaced It's probably is disapating the engine heat as the coolant is heat soaked into the coolant You must have had a reason to work on it Are you sure you installed the right water pump Some pumps run clockwise others turn counter clockwise , serpentine belted pumps that run on the outside of the belt turn counter clockwise Could be the parts man gave you the wrong pump Good Luck
My friend have a 1987 Crown Victoria change the thermostat & water pump still over heating At Reservoir so what could it be.know it had another hose that broke at the heater coil coming from read turn line
