Question type: Maintenance & Repair
On my alternator there is a single wire that isn't bolted on when left off car runs perfectly but leaves the amp light on but when I plug the wire onto the bolt that it goes to car tries to start but stumbles and dies now I haven't left running more then just a few minutes at a time because I don't know if it will affect the charging capability of the alternator if continuous use happens can't find an answer to this any help

Go to Autozone .com they have diagrams on line . You may have to register to gain access.
I have already been to autozone they can't tell if it's a ground wire or what that wire goes too
Ok do u know it cause I called and they claim they can't get the diagram cause of the age of the car
