1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 caliper/break/hose bad?

Asked by Kody Feb 21, 2018 at 01:08 AM about the 1997 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 4WD that just got
new breaks put on a month ago. My problem is that when
I start it up, and put it into drive it sounds and feels like it’s
locking up. I can drive through it after like 3 seconds of it
sounding like that. It only happens when I start the truck
and put it in drive

This question came up before and I recall the answer from back then was related to a GM Technical Safety Bulletin: "Bulletin #4206, BRAKES SEEM TO GRAB ON FIRST FEW BRAKE APPLICATIONS" - google that and see the discussions on various sites regarding it.
