Jeep Wrangler

Asked by GuruT7SCX Jul 23, 2018 at 03:12 PM about the 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001, 4.0 liter jeep wrangler died on me the other day, but before it died
when ever I tried to ruin it in 3rd gear it's RPMs would drop and the back right
wheel would act like it was dragging or there was no power getting to it. Also
just before it died it a horrible bubble and burping sound before it died, so i
checked if the fuel pump was ok which it was. So I don't know hwat it could be.

A stalled engine will make that rear wheel drag on a standard transmission vehicle. Scan for codes and see if it's that crankshaft position sensor. A common failure on the older 4.0 liter engines. Codes P0320 or P0340 or similar numbers.
