pulling into parking space trying to put in park; car excelerated hoped a low
concrete barrier across a grass strip - 40' across a  parking lot; hit a
concrete wall; airbag deployed; car looks totaled.  I have pictures if

I am glad you are OK. My suggestion would be to contact your insurance company. After you get a payout, don't buy another Kia.

Thank you for your quick response. We have been very happy with Kia and also with our Kia local dealership. We have owned 1 sportage, 3 sorentos (including this one), 1 soul and we currently have a forte. They have always been safe and reliable cars. We will be contacting our insurance company with our concerns as well as Kia. We have already discussed with the dealership. thank you again

Just had that happen with my fairly new 2017 Kia Sorento about 3 weeks ago. It accelerated as I was braking to go into my driveway and garage. Neighbours heard both squealing of breaks and revving of engine while I tried to navigate away from the house. Ended up hitting the side of the house and drivers side of car. Insurance is telling me they are only responsible to fix damage done to car, and not to investigate initial cause of damage (ie. defect), that I have to go after Kia for that. Not impressed all around.

GuruP921V, I wondered if you ever got a resolution. I don't know what my next steps should be and wondered if your Kia dealership was at all helpful. I live in Canada, but it shouldn’t make a difference. Thanks.
