Key turns in ignition but engine won't turn over. Anti theft sensor light flashing and now
battery is drained. Battery replaced in Feb 2014. This happened right after an electrical
storm. Any suggestions?

Charge battery back up. Read owners manual if you have it. Some cars with anti theft will not start back up once the battery has been removed or has gone dead. You may have to perform some reboot sequence in order for it to start again.
Battery was fully charged when problem first started and has gone dead over the following days so I don't think the battery is the issue.
Ken, i would think you may need to check your igintion itself,if it eat,s the battery, first thing you want to check is the source of power, all so if you may have a transponder chip in your key, weak battery might have burn,t the chip in it,reason i say this,is it won,t run.
i have a tribute 2002 and the same thing happened the crank shaft sensor went we replaced it then car started

i have a 2001 Mazda Tribute that did the same thing. Try spraying throttle with cleaner and replacing fuel filter, and be sure you have a hot battery. Hopefully, it's not your EMU, but look at that next.
