My 2004 Nissan Titan has been having an electrical problem. The VDC Off/SLIP and Service Engine light are on. I first had a recall on replacing the ECM Relay. The lights were off for no more than 5 miles and all came back on. A scan continues to show Crankshaft position Sensor code of P0335. Two sensors have been installed and lights continue to be on. A new timing chain was installed due to excessive tapping and since then engine runs quieter and smoother. Truck runs decent but somewhat degraded (form of limp mode). Could it be the PCM? If so, would a new one need to be flashed for my vehicle?

I did check brake pads and fluid initially because I had heard this could cause my problem. After your response, I'm not really sure what was replaced. The dealer scanned it and replaced it and after the lights came back on they reimbursed me for the sensor and only charged me for the diagnostic fee. I will check out the link. Thanks for your help.

slip light and no start problems. 2004 to 2007 Nissan Titan that will not start. There are often several codes that will set, which may include sensor power supply code P0643. The P0643 code can set with a shorted 5.0-volt reference circuit from the engine control module (ECM), which can cause the ECM to shut down, resulting in a no-start. To diagnose, first look at the exhaust pipe in the rear of the vehicle above the rear axle. It is common for the exhaust pipe to crack, allowing hot exhaust to leak and melt the wiring harness in the rear of the vehicle. An evaporative emissions (EVAP) control system pressure sensor, located in the rear of the vehicle by the charcoal canister, receives a 5.0-volt reference from the ECM on a sky blue wire. When the exhaust leaks and melts the wiring harness, the 5.0-volt reference can short out and shut down the ECM. Depending on which wires short out, and if they short to power or short to ground, the ECM can also be damaged. If you encounter this situation, you will need to repair the exhaust system and replace the rear wiring harness, or separate and repair the wires. Then clear the codes, see if any codes reset and if the engine will start and run.

The vdc and slip lights could be anything from low fluid, bad sensor, bad wheel bearing, wiring, bad abs module, steering angle sensor , etc.so more than low fluid can cause these lights unlike tom seems to think. the code could be from the sensor, wiring, ecm, etc.

Hey Robert you seem like you know what you are talking about. I'm hoping you or somebody else can help me out. My 2004 titan has been having sudden deceleration and the slip light flashes when this happens. This only started happening today but it happened 3 times throughout the day. My brake fluid is fine and I just replaced the brake pads all around about a month ago. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much
