The plastic gears are burned-out gearing that whines up the brackets that make the headlights go up and down you need to get a new kit with a metal gears.
My motors are working fine. I was just trying to figure out how the motor know to stop turning when the lights are all the way up or closed down and not strip out the gears. My car doesn't have any type of stop switch that I can see.
There probably are limit switches to control the range of movement.
Well that's what I'm telling you if the gear sets are the original gears plastic gears for the headlights assemblies then they're probably worn out and once they're worn out the motor will keep spinning cuz it never reaches the top or it does and it just keeps going cuz there's no more teeth on the gear so take a look take of one of the headlight housings take out the whole assembly and look at it check the gears if stripped that's it like I was talking about you have to get in there and look .
