I have a 2003 LEXUS ES 300 and my knock sensor harness went missing after

I had taken the car into repair shop to have struts changed will it harm engine if

I drive it I notice the rpm is higher then

The knock sensor sends a signal to the computer (PCM) to retard the ignition timing if it hears a spark/knock in the engine. Sounds like the shop damaged the wiring harness and they can fix it for you for free! Also, the check engine light will be on and the vehicle won't pass emissions inspection with the light on.
