Basically everything that runs off the timing belt should be changed, you can purchase a timing belt component kit that will have everything you need. At my garage we always change the thermostat when we change the water pump, I would recommend doing that as well if its never been replaced

thank you! you have been a help!! also when the timing chain cover is removed do i need a new gasket for the cover?
No, if you're vehicle was chain driven you would, but its belt driven, so the timing cover gasket won't need replacing

thanks once again! i have found a kit for my 06 vue it includes the following:1 timing belt,1 roller tensioner bearing,1 idler bearing,2 cam seals,1 crank seal, and 1 water pump with gasket is this a complete kit? what kind of job is this how many hours? i have some mechanical knowledge but not much i think i will have a mechanic do it? what would it cost pricewise? have you ever done a belt on 3.5 v6? thanks for all your help nick
It's a little over 3 hours to change the timing belt itself, so I'd budget for around 5 hours of labor once you add in the water pump, pulleys, ect..., plus maybe 50$ for fluids. I'd suggest getting the hydraulic tensioner too.

i think the tensioner is included does it look like a small metal tube with like a pin in the end of it? and like a keyring hanging off the end? it almost look like a tshape is that it? cause its in the kit i just forgot to mention it! would that make the kit complete (with everything else i mentioned?) and do the thermostat at the same time? i am also putting new radiator hoses and new anti freeze i plan on keeping this truck since not long ago i blew the reverse gear and i i had to do the tranny on it!!!
Yes that would be it! And definitely do the thermostat at the same time especially if you're doing the rad hoses you're going to be right there. And new coolant is good considering all the old coolant is going to be drained out anyways, sounds like you've got everything you need!

thanks so much!!!!!!! i also would like to know should i clean the throttle body? its never been done! what does it take to do that? and when truck is at idle or in drive with my foot on the brake she tends to idle a little rough sometimes it feels like it wants to stall!! if i put in neutral its fine other than that motor runs fantastic and is super quiet i am also changing both struts, the mounts fuel filter just did the air filters this motor should go 150to 200k?anything else motor wise you would recommend? i already changed the plugs with bosch platinum and change the oil constantly with 5w20 sometimes before 3000k oil what about the transaxle fluid? manual says 100k? where is that located? and what kind of fluid do you use?
Throttle body cleaning would be a good idea, pull off the tube that goes from the air filter box to the throttle body, spray carb clean in there and gently scrub with a very soft bristled brush until all carbon residue gone. The transmission fluid was probably changed when you did the transmission swap you mentioned earlier, so I would change it at the recommend interval starting from when the transmission was changed.
does a 2007 Saturn vue have a timing chain?
