98 ford expedition is not shifting out of 2/3 gear and it stays rev'd up. drives better when the overdrive is off.

Sorry to say that your transmission is in need of an overhaul. Nothing short will fix it.

thank you. everything else runs fine do you think its worth fixing? and what is a reasonable price?

I am the worst person in the world to evaluate the worth of a vehicle. It depends on you mostly. If you're mechanically inclined and shop around - you should be able to find a good used transmission and install it yourself. Not a difficult job, just a lot of rolling around on your back. If you aren't inclined, it should cost you about 4 hours labor to change it out. I've had a lot of luck with used transmission and basically, your Expedition is a Ford truck so finding the right one shouldn't be difficult.
