Engine whining while accelerator pedal is pressed

When the car is being driven and the accelerator pedal is pressed, there is a high-
pitched whine. This noise does not happen if the car is in neutral and the pedal is
pressed. It only happens when the car is actually being driven.

Its your fan belt that is slipping or getting worn take it to a local garge they will adjust it in a few mimutes or they may need to fit a new one if its too worn.

Check Transmission fluid, then look for worn wheel bearings, or axle shafts. If its in neutral and doesnt do it then its not the fan. Some cars do develop a whine or hum after miles are put on them. If its the subaru I wouldnt be worried if everything I mentioned checks out okay.

I have the same problem, when I press the gas pedal the whining noise comes from the front of the car and as soon as I release the pedal it goes away, please advise
