loss of power?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 04 with the 6.0 and love it. But I have noticed the take off takes a lot of pedal to get this beast moving. Not too mention the mileage is terrible. I have driven other 6.0 and mine just is not comparing. The exhaust is straight piped and have a K and N intake. I dont beleive that a chip or programmer is the awnser. This truck has raw power in its own. I just aint seeing it yet. Any ideas what may be wrong. I bought it used with 50,000 miles on it. Could it be a back pressure sensor or what. I have no check engine light, but somethings a miss. Thanks

I would recommend that you get your mechanic to hook up his computer to your OBD port and go for a drive. This was the mechanic can see the read outs of all the sensors. This will be a good start. I had one that had a faulty torque converter, very similar problems
may be a bad throtle position sensor.
take it in to get looked at sounds like a bad turbo and egr valve ( one takes out the other) check engine like doesn't always come on for it
mine was doing the same thing and i took it to a dealership and had it put on a computer. it ended up i wasnt gettin any boost. all that was wrong was i had a clamp come off of my air cooler. check the clamps and also the hose for any holes and that might be a big help
the only thing i can think of would be the name ford is just a peice of crap thats all
i would replace your fuel filters if you havent had them replaced recently
04 Ford 60 dsl loss of power run at idle grate but in gear no power fuel presser is 55 psi all filter replace but no power run about 22mil pre hrs
