Just wants to go

Asked by Joe Apr 13, 2017 at 09:37 PM about the 2005 Subaru Forester XT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car just feels like it just wants to just go.
I don't even have to touch the gas and it
goes. I stop and you can hear it revving
faster and my breaks get hard to push and
then I let off and it goes. Feels like cruise is
on all the time . flashing cruise light is on
and CE light. Any ideas?

Fast idle? Maybe a vacuum leak or a dirty IAC. (Idle Air Control) Do have the check engine codes read and post them here.
