Receiving text messges on 2017 Forester

Question type: General

Since the new iPhone update my texts do not appear on the screen in my
forester anymore. Does anyone else have this problem? If so has anyone been
able to fix it?

I would try pairing the phone to the car again.

I’m having the same problem. I just got the iPhone XR. I had to pair the phone again. Calls work, Siri works but texts don’t come through. I hope I can figure it out soon.

Figured it out finally. Go to Bluetooth settings on your iphone Hit the info (i)button next to car multimedia Turn on "show notifications" Boom...text messages.

On the iPhone X and XR when you go to the Bluetooth setting there is no “show notifications” option. I went to my Subaru dealer today and was told to receive message notifications the iPhone must be tethered to the vehicle. I tethered it and all worked.
